I am having a problem capturing Video on Vegas Movie Studio...it captures audio but no Video.
As in I can hear the audio in preview but no Video, The program recognizes the Dazzle but no video is shown.

I'm running Windows XP on a Dell. Trying to capture thru the USB port. It works fine with the Pinnacle (locked) program that came with the Dazzle Digital Video Creator 80. I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem or has advice on how to fix it. I've browsed thru the messages but couldn't find anyone else with this problem.

I can import Video I cature from the Pinnacle program but would like to capture it thru the Sony program

Much thanx

The Dazzle device is seriously flawed and under-functional. As long as you use it you will get poor results. If you have to use it then use Pinnacle to capture and do your editing in Vegas. If you want good results you'll have to upgrade to a real video capture device.

I ended up giving mine away some time ago. It was just as expensive as the Canopus ADVC-100 I replaced it with, but there is a world of difference between the devices.

No matter what video site I've ever read advice at, the one thing they all agree on is that Dazzle video converters are the worst of all. Yet, whenever you walk into almost any store that sells converters, the Dazzle is the only one available. I also hear bad advice about using the Dazzle on TV shows, at least until about a year ago. Why doesn't anybody carry the canopus ADVC 100? Why do we always have to throw away $200. and a lot of time before we find out that there was a better way all along and nobody seems to know, unless you happen to have a friend who's already been through the mill?
Your best cheapo is the Canopus ADVC 100. If you want to transfer old VHS and analog tapes, the Canopus ADVC 300 or a good Sony Dig 8 Camcorder with 'Pass-through' will work great (far less drop-outs and problems).
