DCR-DVD403 and Vegas Movie Studio 6.0b

I have a Sony DCR-DVD403 camera that records in widescreen at 720x480. When I import the video it imports it properly as widescreen (16:9). However, when I make some edits and add effects and try to make the movie, the movie is created in the 4:3 aspect ratio. Everything looks off. I also notice minor video degradation, which I assume is due to the aspect ratio being off

How do I get the video to stay at the correct aspect ratio at 16:9 or widescreen? What settings do I need to set to do this? Thanks for all help provided.

Go to file then properties then change to ntsc widescreen or when you make movie set properties to widescreen. I hope it's this simple.

When I make a movie, I select MPEG2 at DVD NTSC. I try to look for a DVD NTSC Widescreen, but there i no option unless I should it as a video stream. As a video stream there is no sound, therefore not a viable option.

I'll see if I can change the properties of the project, but not sure if that effects the way the movie is made since you select the output properties before making a movie. But I will try, thanks for the advice.

Does anyone else have some possible ideas? Thanks in advance.
