Dead remote with "Single Video"!

A couple questions to anyone who can help...

1) When I create a DVD using the Single Video (no menus) option, I burn one single track, which is expected. However, when playing back this single movie on my Sony DVD player connected to my TV, it seems my DVD remote control goes dead. E.g., it can't start, stop, or fast forward the movie when its playing. (It starts automatically when I put the DVD in the player, and I CAN use the FFWD button that's on the player, but not the one on the remote.) Should this be the case? Is there anything I can do to enable the basic remote features?

2) Can DVD Architect be configured to at least make separate tracks from scenes, perhaps as it detects them from the video? (I'm not sure if the time-based track information that Movie Studio used when creating the AVI files is preserved somehow in subsequently rendered file.) Perhaps this will enable my remote's track selection feature, even if I don't incorporate a menu. (???)

Thanks a lot!

-Kurt
