Decent Lower-end tripod

I know it is an oxymoron, but I am looking for a decent low-end Tripod. I am using 3-ccd cameras with walmart specials and it is time to move up, but I'm really strapped right now, so if anyone has any ideas in the $200-300.00 US range, I would appreciate it. I don't mind sandbagging, I just need something with a decent head that doesn't spring back everytime I move it. Thanks guys.

For $200-$300 you can probably get yourself a nice Bogen combo, new or maybe used.

I just took a quick look and they definately have some nice combos in that price range. Go to the page, click Products, then the Manfrotto logo under the tripods section, and then in the kits section go under Video.

Also Check out the Libec M20. They can usually be found for around $190.00. Zotz Digital and B&H both carry them.

Check on E-Bay for a vintage Miller wooden film tripod & fluid head. If you find a head, but no legs, you may be able to get the legs here:

I recently bought a Velbon for $179 at Ritz camera (can't remember the model number).

A definite big step up from my starter tripod. I'm not experienced enough to compare it to more expensive models, but the Velbon has the smooth panning and flexibility I was looking for.
