deck control....

any way of controlling a deck (camera or dsr11) without opening capture? i simply want to cue tape to the right spot where i can then 'print from timeline'.

and writing of control (yes, i'm a control freak), is there a program that will let me control a dsr11 from the desk top - similar to that cute little application in vegas capture? i have an old but servicable pc which would throw a wobbly if presented with vegas. however, i could do some handwritten logging on it if i could just control the deck a little more effeciently. yes, i know that's what the remote's for, but i could also write emails, play hearts, or log directly into excel......

You can run VidCap by itself or even WMM would do what you want I think.

never thought of that! good idea. will give wmm a whirl as well, see which i'm most comfortable with.

still doesn't get around my first problem though - cueing tape for a print from timeline without having to invoke capture, tell it i don't want to capture tape in player, then cue up....

well, that's life,

thanks, and btw where abouts do you work from - i'm in blandford, nsw. it might possibly be on a map.....

I'm on the lower north shore of Sydney.
Maybe post NAB we should organise a get together for all the NSW Vegas users?
