Defalt transition length?

Is there a way to set a default transition length in VMS Platinum 6? I want to be able to drag a large group of still images to the timeline and have them all be a certain clip length and be linked together through lets say a 3 second crossfade transition. I hope this makes sense. This would save me time, not having to manually overlap all of them.

Go to Options|Preferences| ... Click on the Editing tab. Here you can change the default length of inserted still images, and the default length of transitions is set in the "Cut to Overlap" box. To set the same transition to a connected range of events (still images or video clips), first set the default length as described above, then select the range of events you want to set the transition to. Then drag the desired transition and drop it on the line between any two of the events. The transition will be applied to all the events that are selected.

Right - and if you select "Enable snapping" (an arrow with a little green spark) then - when you move one clip to crossfade with another - it "snaps" easily at the selected transition length.
