Thanks for the tip. However, I don't see the Set Default Track Properties that you mentioned. All I see is Set Default Track Height. Am I missing something?

You have Vegas 2. What GG is referring to is new to Vegas 3-

Go to Options and hold down shift WHILE you select preferences. You'll now see an INTERNAL tab. select that. Page down to INSERT EFFECT 1 under VALUE type 0. Do that for all 4 selctions available and click apply.....when you add an empty track you now have NO effects. Listen to the track WITHOUT the defaults in place......not active..just in place. You'll be surprised.or not? Without them it sounds WAY better!

Woah! Neat trick and it works for Vegas 2. Many thanks. Looks like a few other useful things there as well as many that one shouldn't probably mess with.

Can you elaborate on this? I tried a quick test and couldn't hear a difference between a track without any fx and one with the fx in place but inactive (i.e. unchecked).

Ok now I'm jealous ;-) Congrats.

I just want to add once again ... be very careful with the internal settings.
It's really quick and very easy to get to the point where Vegas doesn't
run anymore. Oops.

If you get stuck, close Vegas, then hold down the Ctrl & Shift keys
while you launch it again. This will set all preferences back to the
original factory default. Whew.

What's an SAC-2K?

GG,

Sorry to butt in, but I did what you suggested. It worked on 1 of my workstations, but not on the other. What gives?
