GG,

All tracks will show up with the default effects on them. Currently there is no way to disable this.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Vegas still needs a way of storing and reverting to templates. This would save SERIOUS time

You can create templates very easily. All that you have to do is set up a project with all of the routing that you would like. Insert tracks and then remove the plugins from each track. Then without doing anything else within the project save it and name it template. You can do this for the all of the ways that you find you are having to configure Vegas in your normal work situation. Then just simply doulbe click on the appropriate template for the session. Once you have your project going resave it with the song name for example so that you preserve your template.

Yes, but...
If you already have a mix going, there is no way to revert to the other template, unless you open two instances of vegas and copy across, which isnt always a very good solution.

I'm hoping a lot of this is being addressed with Vegas 3. But, please SF, don't look to Cakewalk for your GUI!!!

One keystroke functions (like "S" to split, "V" for adding volume envelope, etc.) are ideal. And far better than RIGHT CLICK > ENVELOPES > AUDIO.

SPACEBAR to stop and return to the starting point and ENTER to stop whereever the cursor is at that time are AWESOME. I didn't like it so much when I first swtiched over from Cakewalk, but now I find it invaluable and intuitive. (By the way GG, there is an ENTER key on the far right corner of your keyboard so you don't have to look for the "smaller enter key in the middle of other keys".) I hardly even look down when I'm working in Vegas. When you spend hours a day editing and recording, finding keys on the keyboard is like second nature.

However, there are two great Cakewalk ideas you MUST look into:
1. Customizable shortcut keys (key bindings)
2. Universal mute/unmute, solo/unsolo, arm/disarm buttons. Click one button and all tracks are set.

Also, a keyboard shortcut for RENDER AS would be immensly helpful. (But incorporating #1 above would solve that, too.)

And MMC support so we can use tactile interfaces (O1V, US-428, etc.) to adjust waveform volumes.

And fully automatable FX.

And a Master Fader.

And allow us to customize the default plug-ins...like GG said.

But other than that keep up the great work SF - looking forward to Vegas 3.
