default effects on audio tracks

hi,

whenever i insert or record a new audio track i always get the 3 default FX's (noise gate, compressor, EQ) on it. Is there a way to change this? i never use those plug-ins so i always end up deleting them and replacing them with others...

Delete them from a track then right click on the track you deleted them from and select set default track or something like that. I can't remember what it says but you'll see it.

Thanks for that, VERY good to know. Anyone know if you can have default effects appear bypassed? A compressor ready to go on every track would be great.

The default track Compressor is defaulted to a no-op - that is no compression. Leaving on the track will not cause a hit.

Other third party plugs may not behave the same way.

Thanks for the response. I was indeed referring to third party, TC specifically. I just prefer the sound it gives for my voice. Although the SF is fine for limiting, so glad to hear I can leave it on with no cpu hit.
