Default FX, Etc. Keyframe = "Sharp Fade" Why? Can Default Be Changed?

Version VP10e.

My core and most used keyframe type is linear -- unless otherwise needed such as in Pan/Crop (in which I set the keyframe default to 100% Smoothness in Preferences for I like it that way). Is there a way to change the the "Sharp Fade" default in FX, Text Media, etc. in a similar manner? I keep having to manually change or delete the first default keyframe...

My guess is not, but no harm in inquiring.

Did you try the settings in "Options/Preferences/External Control & Automation"?

Thanks, Marco. I would have never thought of looking there due to that my mind would have stopped at the words "External Control". I'll dive in and set things as I prefer. In short, case closed.

(One of the shortest Q&A's I've done here over the decade I've been here . And a bit embarrassing considering that that is where I set the aforementioned Pan/Crop choice long ago. Getting old, brain fuzzier...)
