Default Naming clips on Capture

Hi All-

I can't seem to find where in vegas I can apply a default name for a clip after the capture.. I go Get a box about rename ALL clips, but it still appends TAPE CLIP 001 on it along with the new name I give it. There must be some wildcard somewhere...

Can I control this naming convention?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by a default name. Do you mean a name that is added top the clip as it's captured? This name is based on the tape name and clipname set during capture prep. If you want to rename a clip, it seems you have to go into the drive or folder where the actual media is stored, right click, and rename. Setting the view properties to thumbnail (at least in XP) will speed up the process.
