Default path problem from v10 Platinum to DVDAS5

Not sure whether this topic belongs here or in the Movie Studio forum. I have a completed project in V10 and want to send to DVDAS5. So, I select......
Make Movie/Burn it to a DVD/ which brings up the Render Settings dialog window. Here I find the Video and Audio file paths. Trouble is DVDAS5 can't find the default folder that VMS HD10P has set. So the automatic hand-off fails - with no indication why. So, I opened DVDAS5 and tried navigating to the folder that v10 wrote them to. I cannot select the folder in DVDAS5!

C:\Users\Ken\AppData\Local\Sony\Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum\10.0\filename.ext

The folder AppData and its entire hierarchy are invisible to DVDAS5.

I know I can work around this by changing the default file paths in v10 but why is the default file location invisible in DVDAS5?

Edit1> Well, I see that the AppData folder has a hidden attribute. Still wonder why this is the default - and what the recommended solution is. Is this a booboo that should be reported TS?

Edit2> Removing the Hidden attribute from just the folder makes everything work properly. Has anyone else run into this problem?

I don't know VMS 10 would be defaulting to render there. I've used Vegas (Pro) 4.0 through 8.0 and VMS 9, and not have ever defaulted to render there. Terrible place to keep video files. You're best off rendering either to a sub folder of "My Documents" or a hierarchy of your own design. (I have a separate media drive with sub folders for projects.)

Haven't got VMS 10, so I can't investigate it myself.

Thanks, Rob. It is odd that v10 would install with that path as the default. I changed the folder back to hidden and v9 couldn't see it either. And the path for rendered files in v9 had been changed to point to my D: drive.

It will probably remain a mystery why v10 set up a path that it couldn't see but it will be no problem setting the path to a suitable location. Thanks.
