Default Transitions

I am making the move from Adobe to Vegas. So far so good.....been able to do msot things with ease. One thing I have run across that I haven't been able to do is automate a bunch of stills to the timeline with a default transition between each. I can just "open" the jpegs and get them to the timeline. But my questions:

How do you have a default transition automaticaly applied?

Scripts will do it for you. The Excalibur program does a wonderful job at achieving exactly what you want. It's an add on to Vegas.

Options/Preferences/Editing/Automatically overlap--that should do it.
