Define end of project

I made a very short video to send by email. However, at the end of the project (after the events I've usede in the project) there is about a minute of black space that I can't get rid of. There are no events, markers or anything else, but it plays black space for more than a minute after the last event. Is there some way to define at what point on the timeline you want the end of the video to be?

Well, you've got "something," an envelope, marker, region, whatever that extends past the end of your video.

Or, you have a loop region selected that is longer than your video.

Easiest way is to select and render a loop region that just includes your video. Then you can troubleshoot the project later.

Thanks so much!

It seems when I render the video, it cuts out the black bit at the end. It seems to only do it in the preview. Thanks for the advice.

The end of the video is the end of the last clip. If you click on the "go to end" button, it will take you to that point. When previewing the timeline, the cursor WILL go past the end if you do not stop it sooner. However, it will not render past that last clip.

Yes, that previewing past the end thing is confusing, but not really the slightest bit troubling. I don't now what circumstances combine to produce it, but i've seen it be as short as half a second and as long as 20 minutes.

Pretty much by about the 4th time i noticed it happening ... i stopped noticing or caring about it.

Ed's advice is the best: click the "move cursor to end" button. Only items before where the cursor ends up are part of the project. If Vegas plays beyond that point just ignore it.
