I'm using the WAVES Rcompressor in Vegas.
However, something very odd is happening:
On the raw data I opened from the EDL, the voices in the clip sound good when played.
When I apply a track FX Waves RCOMP and hit play on the timeline , things still sound good.
HOWEVER. When I then use Ctrl+M to render that dialogue, and put it on a new track with no FX, the new file sounds different and bad. I did an A and B test back and forth between the two tracks. They should be identical, shouldn't they? Even when I use NO plugins and just render again (from 48khz wave 16 bit to 48khz wave 16 bit) I am getting a noticeable degredation in quality. What's going on?
