Delay going between projects?

Hi,

I'm using V9d on a win7 i7 system. So far V9 works fine for me, the only issue I have is working between projects. I get a 3 sec delay before it opens up the other project. To clarify I have two V9 screens/prjects running at the same time, everytime I cut and paste some stuff from one the other theres a 3 sec timer ring then it opens up. This is fine if you're only doing it once or twice, but when you are dipping between them all day it does get a bit tiresome!

I would imagine this is a Microsoft thing but if anyone has a work around I would be most grateful.

Many thanks to those reply.

Cheers

Phil

If it can help, I just opened 2 projects (Vegas 9.0d 64 bit under Win 7 Ultimate) and selected some clips in the first project and pasted them to the other. Did this several times back and forth - but noticed absolutely no delay.
Have you checked the Windows Task Manager for CPU or RAM usage??

Does your system show the same delays copying/pasting between other applications?

Try deselecting the "Close media files when not the active application" option under Options - Preferences.

No, the delay only seems to happen in Vegas.

Brillant! Thanks for that, not sure what it did, but it's fixed it.

Glad it worked Phil.

Here's what the online help says about that option:

"When this check box is selected, files can be edited in external editors (audio, image, etc.) while they are contained in events on the Vegas timeline."

Brilliant idea, Mike - would never have thought at this myself :- )
