I'm just use Mr Philips original script to modify suit to the latest Vegas Pro 14 & 15. If anything do let me know. Here you go for the download link.

Yes you can but you need to select audio track together . I will working out to improve on this without select the audio track .Cheers .

This is a great script. But it doesn't take into account bindings and groupings.
Is it possible to modify the script so that when you remove gaps in the video, the sound associated with it also shifts?
Of course you can select and audio track. But it is not always convenient, because it can be not just under the video track, but much lower
