Zippy, I don't know this product and therefore have no opinion on it.
On storage generally, I have 6 external firewire/USB enclosures, three different types, containing a variety of 7200 EIDEdrives - Seagate, Quantum etc, and all have behaved impeccably for up to 2 years.
If you're getting into HD you may need to look at Raids, but a standard drive setup will easily keep up with DV data rates..

No experience with this drive package either. Zippy, you signed your own silence by asking about a specialized package. If no one uses it, why bother responding?
I use/We use TONS of external storage. Some as small as a pack of cigarettes, some as large as a small breadmaker.
RAIDS are wonderful. Firewire Raids work good. SCSI w/dual 320's are heaven, but not necessary for DV.
Maybe post a more open question, you might find more answers.
