Vegas sounds just fine to me. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Why are you trying to create a problem over this name thing?
If you are really that bored, I've got some cows that need to be moved down from the upper side of the Oqquirhs, and I could use some help. Bad snow is supposed to be here soon. I've got an extra horse.

Vegas 5 is OK with me.
I'm more concerned about the lack of international approach. I was hoping that would change when Sony took over - and it may still do. But the fact that Europeans have to pay up to $ 50 for a "free" CD because it has to be shipped from the US is annoying. The fact that I can't get my father in law to use Video Factory because he don't read English is ... well I wish it wasn't so. I'm about to hold a video-making course for the employees in my daughter's kindergarten and I have convinced them they should buy Vegas +DVD - but I fear much of the time will have to be spent explaining what some of the difficult words mean in Norwegian.
I once bought Pinnacle (because I wanted the 1394 card that was in the package) but I did notice that the product came in a Norwgeian version. If they can do it, so can Sony. Do it now.

EDIT: "...he don't read English..." And I doesn't write it rite.

I am even more impressed with your capabilities. Lots of video talents, as we know, but live in a... I'll call it a "ranching" environment too. Either one could fill most people's time. It's enlightening to hear that you are doing both. Keep up the good work.

Spot, if I thought you were serious, I would take you up on that offer to help with your round up!

The kinder more gentlier Zippy is always in jeopardy of falling--Zippy, the discussion as to the naming of the product is old--do some searches---I even had a pleasant conversation with the marketing guy at Sonic/Sony---although he didn't tell me why they named it Vegas--he said they did their due dillegence---Wasn't it Getrude Stein who said---"Whats in a Name"---probably not.

I was serious, except this is done in October, not December. We take them back up in June.

Being stuck in Miami, it been a while since I was on a horse, but I love the mountains and miss Utah and being outside. That would be a golden opportunity!

I was in a crappy mood till I read Zippy's post. I don't care what anyone says. I like the guy.
Spot|DSE wrote on 12/12/2003, 7:37 PM
I don't know that 24 head constitutes a 'drive' but it's fun. We have a coop with a couple other folks out here.
I realize Zippy means to poke fun at me, that's fine, I can manage, but I'd wager he probably doesn't realize that out here, no one talks about mules, we call em' something else.
But I'd like to kick his 'mule' too.
Bill, I know you live pretty darn close to the hills, but if anyone is interested in my backyard, you can see some elk from some footage I shot/encoded last spring for some comparison media.
here
Apologies for the encode beep, it was being edited with Vegas 4 during a beta stage. But...it's shot from my back yard which adjoins my east pasture, you can see where the cows trail in the winter.

Zippy et al: Please be nice to the animals, no matter how bored you are.

"My farm, my mule, and me!!"

Thank God I read the thread! From the subject I thought it was the title to a new Harlequin Romance novel.

My farm, my mule, and me...the story of a misunderstood couple from the south.

Hi Zippy. How about calling it The Render Farm? (And make sure to use all capitals in the sign, preferably with a big bold font.)

Don't bother overhauling the mule, try overclocking instead. By the way his name is Sam.

And please send me some chicken milk - I just love the taste!

Sam is short for Samule, huh? -- Good.
