Ungroup the audio from the video, and delete. Or, right click the audio and choose Delete from the sub menu.

I simply highlight the audio event and hit the delete button just make sure they are not grouped.

If you just select the audio event without the video and press the Delete key it should be deleted leaving the video behind. Make sure you don’t have the video track selected. You could also ungroup them with the U key and then delete the audio (but the first way should work as long as the video track isn’t selected)

Thanks guys. What happens when I hit delete on the audio the corresponding video bumps to the left, and then I drag it back. I tried to ungroup the two by highlighting both audio and video and press U but it doesnt work. How exactly do you ungroup?
Regards.

It sounds like you have Ripple Edit turned on. Turn it off unless you really intent to ripple.

What makes you think it didn’t work? If you just select the audio event, you should be able to move it independently from the video. This shows you that ungroup worked.
