Deleting Clip Portions

I tried searching the board but couldn't quite find an answer to this.

I have several clips (5+ minutes each in this case) that I really only need to use 30 - 40 seconds of each (they are interviews that I'm having to edit down). What is the best/fastest way to shorten a clip's length (to keep only the content I need), and reduce it's size (to save hard drive space and make them more managable)?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

one way is to trim your clips on the timeline, then click save as and check the copy and trim media box. I usaully create a folder with a reference to the name of the veg. then when you do the "save as" it will save the veg there as well as the trimmed media.
After that VERIFY that the media is saved there, then you can go to the original folder where you capture the media and delete the files.

Thanks epirb. I'll give that a shot.
