Deleting Time from timeline

I have recently upgraded to VMS Platinum 6.0 from VMS 4.0.
In 4.0, which I still have loaded on my computer, I could insert time on my timeline and also delete time by highlighting the area of interest and just either hit the delete key or go into Edit tool bar and select Delete.

In 6.0, I am still able to insert time, but I can not delete time off the timeline. Has anyone else seen this, have a fix or know of a different way to delete time off the timeline without having to move all events?

Do you have ripple edits turned on and set to "all tracks and markers ..." ?

If I select the "Auto Ripple" icon drop down arrow, the "Affected Tracks" is the option with the dot by it. Is this what you were referring to?

There are three options available under the "Auto Ripple" and I did go through all three of them and in all cases, I still could not delete time from the timeline.
