I use VF on a Dell Inspiron and I am posting this here - on the VV site - to ascertain if anyone has had any PTT problems or better still success, when the exhaust fans YES the fans switch on and off?

I've noticed, after many months now of analysis, that I do get dropout when I Print To Tape and the fans switch on and off. I've been informed by Dell support that the fans are control by the BIOS and can not be directly/manually controlled. Yes I do know about the fanGUI s/w. This will be a last resort, as I really don't wish to go down to the BIOS level to take control of the fan cooling procedure and would prefer the Dell BIOS to do it.
