Release Notes: This is a Windows MIDI utility to clean out the Windows Operating system of previously installed MIDI devices for PCI and USB interfaces.

Windows has a limit to the number of device drivers installed, once that number has been exceeded new installations will result in the device MIDI port not showing up in the Device Manager.

There is a text file included that includes a few simple steps on how to use this file.

I wonder if it now has "multi-client midi"? I'll be doing my testing tomorrow.

I've been trying to get that driver for a couple days but I keep getting the 404 error. In fact, I get the 404 for all their downloads. Is it just me? Or is their site on the fritz?

It's the same freakin driver as the last beta build without the "beta" added to the name. So if your using the delta_29x12Pro beta drivers don't download this. You already have it installed. I was really hopeing they would have added "multiclient midi" to the next driver build. Their $50 midisport has it...Why not their freakin top of the line card? :(

Yeah, I installed the "latest" .29 drivers, and within a short period of time, got a BSOD :(

The culprit:

"delta.sys"

The same thing that happened when I tested the "beta" .29 drivers last December.

Oh well, back to the tried and true, ACID40 drivers. In ten months of using the ACID40
drivers, I have never had a audio driver related BSOD, never. If like me, you need solid ASIO AND WDM support( I use ACID 4/Vegas 4 & SONAR), these are the best performing and most stable Delta drivers out there. I still don't understand why they ever took them off their website, in the first place. Your are left with either the .27 drivers, which give lousy ASIO support, or the .29 drivers which give you BSOD's.
Thankfully, I have a saved copy of the ACID40 drivers, which has saved my a**.

The .29 driver seems to work a bit better with Vegas, but doesn't play well with Cubase SX on my system. Sigh...

Billy Buck - where can I find the ACID40 drivers? I'm using .27 (which, as you point out, isn't very stable with Vegas) and I'd like to try another option.

I've used those drivers, but I havn't seen any BSODs in Acid with the latest and even .27's. My friend uses acid religeously, for hours on end without this problem (same card, latest driver).

You should check that system billy, i bet somthing else is going on there.

I don't think it is my system JoeD. Why would all the other Delta drivers, (.26,.27 and ACID40) work just fine in my DAW. This is the same rig I have used for the past 2 1/2 years. I am not the only one having problems with the .29 drivers. Many SONAR users are also having performance problems that do not occur with the .27 or ACID40 drivers. I am not just talking about BSOD's either. After I had the .29 final drivers installed a few days, I installed the new Reaktor Sessions, and as soon as I opened the DXi in SONAR, boom, BSOD, the culprit:

"delta.sys"

It repeatedly did this several times in a row.

I immediately uninstalled the .29 drivers and re-installed the ACID40 drivers and reset everything. I then opened the Reaktor Sessions DXi, in SONAR, bingo, bango, it works perfectly and it has ever since! Sounds like an audio driver problem to me. In fact, the only time I have EVER had an Delta audio driver related problem(never mind a BSOD),
has been with the .29 drivers. I just don't trust them. The .29 beta drivers gave me BSOD's and so do the supposedly "final" .29 drivers. Anyway, I don't need the .29 drivers, all the other Delta drivers .26,.27, and ACID40 drivers, work just fine(never a
BSOD), in my DAW. I also don't have the time, or desire, to be trouble shooting the .29 drivers, for M-Audio, when the ACID40 drivers give me everything I need. The .29 final drivers may work for some people, but for many others, they do not. I am glad they are working for you, but are they that big of an improvement over the .27 drivers? Other than the BSOD's, I did not see any performance improvements(other than a slicker XP style Control Panel), over the ACID40 drivers I am using. So at least I am not missing much. Except for the BSOD's, of course :)

Hmm, another very weird one to chalk up. I wonder why we're not seeing these BSOD's?
I'm actually trying to make this happen. Can you describe what you're doing when you get this?

It was not related to any SOFO apps, I did not get that far. After I started getting the repeated BSOD's in SONAR 2.2, I gave up. Especially, after my BSOD experiences with the .29 beta drivers last December, in both ACID Pro 4 & SONAR 2.1( I would get BSOD's after repeatedly previewing ACID loops from the Loop Explorer views of both apps). But, with the .29 final drivers, I got repeated BSOD's while trying to open and use the new Reaktor Sessions DXi (v1.01) in SONAR 2.2. After about the fourth straight time of trying to get the Reaktor Sessions DXi open and usable and seeing the XP blue screen, I gave up and reverted back to the tried and true ACID40 drivers. No more BSOD's and Reaktor Sessions DXi opens and works inside SONAR 2.2 like a charm.
