Delta 1010 routing...

jbrazier wrote on 3/13/2002, 10:56 AM
I recently switched my vegas audio 2.0 installation to a new pc and have had to set it up again with my delta 1010. I had all my routing setup correctly on my old system, but I can't seem to find the same how-to (from the M-audio website) that I used then, to setup the new system. Now all I can find is blanket setups for the delta 66/1010 and those instructions don't detail the monitor mixer routing, etc. Anybody have this information...?

are you trying to route delta 66/1010 into vv3?
open vv3
click:
options
preferences
audio tab
then make your changes to the drop down menu
m-audio sux the big one--why would you want to use there sound card?
i hate them with all my heart--and then some
good luck

No no no...

All I did was buy a new pc and I'm moving the vegas audio 2.0 software and the delta 1010 hardware over to the new system. The delta worked awesome with my last setup, the only reason i'm switching to a faster pc is more more concurrent track playback ability. I remember reading something on m-audio's site about setting up routing with the 1010 and having the monitor-mixer on some bus, etc.... This is what I'm trying to find out.

Give us an idea of how you have the Delta 1010 set up as far as physical mixer connections.

With any audio software, including the VV, you should have a choice of outputs and inputs.

Also, you have to use the Delta 1010 control panel to set it up to use with the monitor mixer. The monitor mixer can be run out of outputs 1&2 I believe. (The control panel will be found in the control panel section of your computer. Sorry if I am spoon feeding you too much, but I'm not sure of your computer fluency)

I actually do not use the monitor mixer feature since I have an outboard mixer. I use input 1&2 for recording and outputs 3&4, 5&6, & 7&8 for monitoring.

When I do my final mix, I assign them all to the same output, usually 3&4, and mix the audio via the software (as opposed to physically mixing them with the mixer)

Vegas 2.0 allowed you to set up a routing scheme.

VV3 did away with this (now you select this via the rec enable switches)
Also in the pref/audio tab- just select windows classic wave driver and the deltas for the default re and playback drop downs.

You also should be using Win98se as your OS and delta driver 4.1.22.27 (best audio quality and asio/mme functionality) cause 24-bit with the delta MME drivers are NOT working for 24-bit (unless you use Sonar with the .26 wdms).

Why was my post on this problem deleted (was: SF I would like answers: delta and w2k/xp)?
