Denoting File Name

Help an old editor with his memory. I seem to recall in a previous version of Vegas I found a way to do the following.

I could pick a file from Explorer, and place it on the timeline. The file would be displayed as waveforms, but at the start of the image would be a box that would give the filename.

For example, if I picked voiceover.wav and put it up on the timeline, I could see the name of the file. It was kind of handy when working with so many small files.

Anyone remember what has to be set up in preferences to do this?

I don't recall a way to do exactly what you describe. However, if you click View / Active Take Information (Ctrl+Shift+i) you'll get a little label with the filename displayed on the event.

Thanks, Chienworks. I didn't find the command under the VIEW window, but it was the 3nd checkbox in Preferences/General.

I appreciate the tip!
