I believe Edward Troxel (www.jetdv.com) has a tutorial on this in one of the news letters, and there is also a tutorial at VASST (http://www.vasst.com/). There's also a good tutorial at http://www.wideopenwest.com/~wvg/tutorial-menu.htm

In my newsletters, you specifically want to look at Vol 2 #10.

This has come up so often over the years, that I keep links to many old posts in my Vegas forum database. These are a little old, but that doesn't matter since the techniques haven't changed:

Black & White with one just one colour?
----------------------------------------
removing color from all but a particular item

and

How to do this compositing effect...

also,

black and white and 1 selected colour

There is also this thread:

b&w video with colour flower

Color object over Black and White

Thanks to all of you guys for the quick response. I'm playing with the secondary color corrector method and it seems to be what I am looking for!
Still going to try the multiple tracks. Have to go through all the great links provided :-)

You guys are the best!!

Way too many steps - use aav6cc to make it a simple process - it worked great for me on a wedding I shot in May. And I can confirm it works fine in Vegas Pro 8.
