just got a job in with hours of mod files....

loaded them in no problem:

a. want to sort them by date modified, and the list view comes up FULLY loaded - is there a QUICK way to get rid of unwanted fields other than un-ticking them one by one. right royal PITA - yes i know i can drag them around....

b. how can i pull up the tapes time code - they all start at 0:0:0 - i thought this bug had been fixed!!!!!

am getting very, very p'ed off with all these niggling little problems.

Right click on the Open Project Media pane and you'll get a WHOLE bunch of "sort by" options. Once done you can save to a New Media folder and either use or ignore. Very useful!

are you up late or early over there ;-)

still a lot of un-ticking though. (i presume we're talking about 'view' > multi-choice window?

and is somebody now going to tell me mod files have NO time code? looks that way after checking with some m2t files. OMG - what have i let myself in for ;-(

No, the Project Media pane. The Pane that holds ALL media.

Does Mediainfo report anything?

I tried it with a DV AVI file and it showed up, but it did not with an AVCHD .m2ts file. In my case the date/time is contained in a sidecar file produced at the same time as the transfer by my transfer software.

R Click in the Project Media pane and you'll see View, click that and then you'll see what Ushere is talking about. In that pane you can tick on or off all the columns.

I may not be fully understanding what you want to accomplish, but another thing that might be faster is to drag the column headers to a new location. You can simply left-click-hold on any column header and then drag it to a new location. This lets you place together columns that you want to view at the same time. I don't know if this will be better or faster than un-checking columns in the View menu.
