Device could not be opened

I am having the same problem with the Video Factory 2.0 Demo as maeleo2049. I currently have Dells Movie Studio II bundle that comes with Dazzle and VideoWave 4. I am running:

XP
1.7 Gig P4
256 Meg RAM

Whenever I click on the capture icon in Video Factory, It looks for the VideoWave4 .msi file and wants me to put the VideoWave install CD in. Once I do that, it acts like it is doing a VideoWave install and then comes back with this message:

"The Device could not be opened. Please make sure that it is turned on and is not being used by another application or user."

The Camera is on and no other application is running. I get this message even after reboot. I can capture via VideoWave and Pinnacle Express with my Digital Camera, so I know it is not the hardware. So my question is the same as maeleo2049, will this go away if I buy the full version? I have not read anything that leads me to believe that this is a Demo limitation. I am currently looking for an alternative to VideoWave’s audio out of sync problem.

The problem is VideoWave. You will need to completely uninstall that product if you want VF to work correctly. VideoWave is famous for overwriting critical DirectX components, and while it should not do this, it does.

Thanks SonicEPM, completely uninstalling VideoWave worked. I am now able to capture from my Camera. Will I ever be able to have VideoWave installed with VF? Can I use Dazzle to output analog (to my VCR)?

Thanks.
