Device Not Connected error with HDV

I'm trying to capture HDV from a Z1. Vegas 6.0b says, Device Not Connected.

Any advice? I've tried the steps outlined in online help. Didn't fix it.

Did you disable internal capture app by chance?
Does your computer see the Z1 whether Vegas is loaded or not?

Internal capture app is checked. Windows Media Player sees the Z1.

VT[4], which is installed on the same system, also sees the Z1. In DV mode of course, not HDV.

I just installed Vegas on my laptop. It does see and capture HDV from the Z1. It also let me successfully install CineForm HD Connect whereas my desktop system wouldn't. Could that be why the desktop version of Vegas doesn't see the Z1?

I fixed the problem by installing XP SP2 and the AV/C driver. I'd been avoiding SP2 because of reported firewire problems.
