Did I purchase the right software

I just ordered Vegas 6+DVD and I'm worried I may have purchased the wrong package. For audio I mant to import .wav files [ 24bit 44.1 ] into vegas and mix/edit the tracks. Does the program come with full eqing, compression, gates, delay reverb etc assignable to all tracks or will I have to buy a ton of expensive plugins to go with the Vegas 6+dvd software? I will be bummed if I it doesn't come with at least the basic FX needed to do fairly uncomplicated mixes. Again I'm looking for full equalization on each track, a bunch of gates
[ live drums ] reverb, delay, chours, flange etc. I realize there are many thirs party plugins for everything I've mentioned that may be better or at the least different than a standard FX package, but I would just like to know that it has everything that a good mixing console would have [ minus the inputs and outputs of course ].

Thanks,

The good news is that Vegas comes with *most* of the efx that are standard for today's audio needs. The bad news is that a lot of them are pretty lame (in terms of quality) by today's standards and don't compare well to most competitor's in this regard. This issue is something that Vegas users have been complaining about for years. The reverb is particularly bad. The only Sony plug I use on a regular basis is the track eq for quick and easy shelving applications (low end rolloff) and similar kinds of things. I don't use it for anything that would actually impart the "sound" of the eq though. I have most of the Waves plugs and other 3rd party efx for my more important and serious work. I should say that I also regularly use Noise Reduction 2.0 (a Sony plug) but it is not included in Vegas. At any rate, all the plugs you mentioned in your post are included in some form with Vegas.

More good news is that Vegas 6 supports VST, so you can use a lot of the excellent free plugins that are out there instead of the crappy Sony ones.
