Differences between DV and DVCAM

I have 2 questions about the differences between DV and DVCAM.

1. The first is about audio and video sync in the transfer process through an IEEE 1394 port.

I've read that DVCAM format uses a same data package to transfer audio and video through an IEEE 1394 port, when DV uses different data packages to do that. Does it make any difference in audio & video sync reliability, even if the video had a long duration such as 40 or 50 minutes?

2. I've also read that in DV format some digital errors may occur in
transfering data through an IEEE 1394 port. Is it true? A friend told me the
DVCAM data transfer is more trustable. Do you know anything about it?

I have used them both and see no qualitative difference in the two---It's been about a year since I last dropped a frame using DV transferring through firewire.
