On Vegas MS Platinum I have noticed that when I cut out portions of an AVI then create a new movie Vegas re-renders the file and the product is very fuzzy. I'm using the Canopus DV codect which should have pretty independant frames. I went onto the Creative Cow Forums and asked if there was a program that will just cut out the frames I don't want without altering in any way the frames I want to keep. I found out that VirtualDub will do it with a setting called "Direct Stream Copy"
It worked. Screen shots from the edited movie were absolutely identical to the original.
What I would like to know is if Vegas MS Platinum has this capability. I would even be willing to upgrade to Vegas Pro. VirtualDub does not have anywhere near the fuctionality of Vegas, but Vegas seems to be lacking this one feature.
Thanks,
Justin
