Direct X and Windows XP Service Pack 1

I have XP professional Service Pack 1 installed and was checking out Direct X on Microsoft's site.

There is no download for direct x 8.1 for XP instead they direct you to obtain Service Pack 1. Does that mean that Dirext X 8.1 is included in the Service pack 1 or does it mean to install SP1 and then direct x for 2000?

Thanks

If you have the service pack installed, you have DirectX 8.1

Hi,

You shouldn't have install XP SP1.
You'll begin to experience all sorts of weird stuff in VV3.

Only remedy is to do a system restore or re-installation of XP.
