Disable DV Scene Detection

I have edited, rendered and sent to tape. I now want to add 'more' music to that tape. When (re)importing this tape (again) individual scenes are displayed. It is not only very cumbersum to place all such scenes back onto the timeline but (sooner or later) cant be completed seamless.
I figured one way to import a complete movie (and then having two additional sound tracks available) would be by disabeling the automatic DV scene detection (temporarely) however, I cant find Tools/Option/Preference to Enable or Disable. Does anybody know - or any better way to handle this subject ?

As you have already created a video within Video Factory, something like "Busmans First Video Project", and if you haven't delete any of its supporting clips, music and text items etc. to repeat your editing session with the option to carrying on editing, is to Open the project you named as "Busmans First Video Project". I don't understand why you are needing to, or having to repeat the whole editing process just to "add" something extra - like music. Please explain exactly what you are doing. - Basically, you can keep on editing and adding to a project. Save it and close it - then open it up etc etc. Am I missing something? Y'know the more I think about it........

You'll have to change this option in the VidCap program, not in VideoFactory. Once you have VidCap running, click Options / Capture. The first item in the list is Enable DV scene detection. Remove the checkmark there.

It seems really odd to me though. When you print a project to tape it should have a continuous timecode and therefore VidCap should see it as one long scene, no matter how many individual clips it was made from. Was this originally one long project? Or have you been printing it to tape a bit at a time, adding to the end each time?

Does VidCap only use a timecode based scene detection? A lot of apps use some form of content detection. But then thinking back to the thread on displaying time codes, I got the impression that VF left the original time codes intact.

Going back to the whole "timecode" and "time/date" discussion, remember that they are two separate entities. I think the DV scene detection in VF is based on the time/date stamp, not the timecode. So unless he built the master tape a little at a time (which would definitely change the time/date stamp), then the original time/date information is getting preserved through the editing process (like was stated in the previous thread) and is therefore triggering scene detection when recapturing the master tape.

Thanks guys ! Here are my afterthoughts : No, all clips were deleted after rendering / taping. Yes, when re-importing it does keep reading the original / individual scenes. And finally, thanks to Chienworks I was able to turn off the automatic DV Scene Detection though .... being just an enthusiastic newcomer to the computer and editing world I had a few difficulties because 'after having VidCap running, click Options' -I had to go into Preference- 'and then ... Capture' to turn it off.
Again, thanks a lot !
