Disabling audio automatic gain control

Hi guys,

I've finally made the upgrade to HD video and am in the process of rendering my first "in studio" video. I'm using Vegas 10e.

The first attempt had horrific audio gain control on it so I went into the options and found the tick box to "uncheck" the setting. I then rendered it again but it has made no difference.

Am I doing something wrong or am I missing something?

I'm using the "Sony AVC/MVC (*.mp4,*.m2ts,*.avc) as my file type.
My audio settings are: 192Kbps, 48000Hz, 24 Bit Stereo, AC3

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Peter.

If your source had AGC, there is nothing you can do "automatically" in Vegas to change that. The AGC setting in the AC3 encoder is for a different purpose.

Thanks for replying. I've investigated a bit further and discovered that it's actually Windows Media Player that applying AGC to the audio.

If I bring the final video into Vegas and preview it there, the audio is fine.

Cheers,

Peter.

Look for the free program "Levelator".
