Disappearing Audio

I am making a short slide show for my son's 21st birthday. I have included a 30 second video clip which I have imported into VMS 9a Platinum from the DVD that I have the video stored on. Overall video is 1 hour long but I have cut out the 30 second portion.

All was well and I had both the video and audio (albeit the audio was only in mono) in my project. Today when I opened the project I got an error message and found that whilst the video was still there but the sound associated with this event was missing (no files were changed or delected from my computer). The only change I upgraded from Version 9 to Version 9a.

I then deleted the clip and put it back in but still have video and no sound. Tried reimporting the whole movie but now get video and no sound.

I am anly a novice and hope I have explained this clearly enough for someone to guide me.

Thanks.

Do a bug report with Sony about this using their online form. This is most possibly a bug after your upgrade. I am not sure we can do much else on this forum about this.

The solution could be found in a link that was discussed earlier. It worked for me:

Many thanks for this link. Downloaded the files and it fixed my problem.

Given that there is a bug in 9a that caused this, why wouldn't Sony send a simple email to all registered users notifying us of the problem to avoid many frustrating hours in trying to fix it. I should send them a bill for my time as it was their mistake that caused this.
