Disappearing Audio 10e

winrockpost wrote on 7/24/2011, 1:36 PM
Gettin a little jumpy with vegas 10, just started using it a couple a weeks ago, having a few issues. This one , the audio will decide to just go away at track level.. may have 4 or 5 audio tracks , and one will suddenly decide to mute.. audio still showing wave forms.Shutdown vegas and open er up and its back. So she renames my clips on the timeline and turns off my audio.. hmmm Maybe a 32 bit thing,, needs more memory I don't know but its back on the shelf ,,maybe update f will be why I bought this version

Have you tried to unclick Enable Track Buffering under Audio Devices?

no, but project is done now after repeated 2am issues.
I'll try it next timeif it happens again.. been using vegas since it was
a baby,, never had issues like I do now. Giving Vegas a break for a bit, running a couple of other apps... before I have a meltdown....maybe next time I'll try it on a 64 bit machine...
thank you for the advise

do the muted clips have any pitch shifting or time compression?

My vegas 10e is doing the same thing... but toggling between ASIO drivers and the windows mixer, then restarting a few times, seems to get them working again.

Noticed this after "upgrading" to 10e on my work computer. Needless to say my home system will not be "upgraded" to 10e.

Have you considered going back to 10d? That release was very stable for me.

I'm having disappearing video on a regular basis. A shut down brings it back online.

hope 10f comes soon,

I'm only hoping for 2 fixes - this new audio bug, and the random clip replacement bug

*Edit - sorry 3 fixes - It would be really nice if I could burn an audio cd from the timeline like could be done in V9,8,7,6,5,4...

my audio dropouts only seem to happen with nested files...
Stop and restart same area and dropout moves to a different area...strange

Hello,

Did you try to get Vegas to rebuild the audio proxy files ?

@ all having this issue: pls. go to Options ... Audio Devices and unclick Enable Track Buffering and post here if it helps - or not.
gwailo wrote on 8/1/2011, 2:43 PM
no it doesn't help... i've never had enable track buffering enabled
ritsmer wrote on 8/2/2011, 8:23 AM
I see ... I asked because It's (normally) enabled by default - and because my "missing audio" problem disappeared totally when I unclicked that box.
