Disappointment - audio restoration - VMS-P 7.0

Hello all,
Just writing to express/share my disappointment in Sony regarding the Audio Restoration bug in VMS-P 7.0. It was identified as a bug months ago and we were told it would be fixed in the next update of VMS-P 7.0. Now VMS 8.0 has been released, hyping the restoration plug-in:

(From the Audio Tools page for VMS 8)

Restore Audio
The Audio Restoration plug-in lets you remove clicks, pops, and other noise from your music and audio clips to ensure the highest fidelity soundtrack for your video project.

Still no update fix for VMS-P 7.0, and Sony will not give those who have the bug a free upgrade. I wouldn't expect a free upgrade if an update fix had been released, but it has not, and I doubt it will be now that a new version is out.

Does this not seem unfair?

It does IMO, especially if they promised it as an update. I am very bummed about the lack of updates of VMS7-P compared to the 5 updates that Vegas 7 Pro received (and this is something I expressed today on the phone at a Sony tech support guy). I ended up buying the upgrade to VMS8-P, I am just hoping that there will be an update in the next few months for it to fix the 2 new bugs that appeared on v8, and so we won't be left out again.

Thanks Eugenia.

Would you be able to confirm the plug-in works in VMS-P 8? In VMS-P 7 the plug-in says "Demo" in the dialog box when you apply it, and it beeps randomly when the audio is played back with it applied.

I only have the trial version of v8 installed next to my full VMS-7P (you can install it parallel to VMS7, it won't screw up your installation). The purchased package of v8 will arrive next week...

I guess I kicked up enough of a fuss that Sony offered a compromise - half off the upgrade price. I suppose that is relatively fair. Thanks guys.
