The DVD Video format is primarily geared toward standalone DVD players -- it was, I suspect, just fate that we ended up with computer programs that can also play them. As such, the DVD specifications don't really have a concept of "disc icons." So, DVD Architect doesn't have a function for adding them, either, as it's not really designed to create multimedia discs (ie, those specifically intended to be viewed on a computer).

That said, all is not lost. You just use DVD Architect to prepare your normal DVD files. Then, before you burn them to a disc, you create your icon file and the autorun file to load that icon file; add these files to the root directory of the files that DVD Architect prepared; and then burn your project to DVD. No need to involve DVDA in the "icon adding" process at all.

Here's a link with some instructions and tips for the actual icon portion of the process. You'll need a program capable of creating ICO files, which generally contain more than one image so that your computer can display the proper size depending on the context (ie, a desktop icon is bigger than an Explorer icon).

Note that, to the best of my knowledge, a Mac is not going to trigger the autorun file, which means it's not going to display your icon. Not sure about Linux PCs.

Here's a link to a topic I started back in '05 on how to do this.
