Disk space used jumps from 3gb to 55gb

Hi all,

I've had this problem in the past. I had been working on a DVD project for quite some time, finished it, great! But then sometime later I go back to my project and see a couple of spelling mistakes in my subtitle lines.
As soon as I tried to change one of the subtitles the 'Disk space used' counter in the bottom right hand corner jumped from 3.2GB to 55GB. A simple CTRL-Z would undo my spelling correction and bring my 'Disk space' back to 3.2GB.

I updated my Architect Pro 5.2 to Pro 6.0 unfortunately that doesn't solve the problem.

Any ideas?

Have you gone to File/Optmize Disk and re-optimized it?

Yes, i did. The problem is that as soon as DVD architect thinks that the project has grown so much, it won't do much anymore. Try to -Prepare DVD- again and the program won't do it since I don't even have 55GB free storage on my hard drive.

I solved the problem by saving the project on a different computer. But the bug in the program isn't fixed.
My project is back at 3.2GB again, but what if I didn't have an extra computer?

You need to prepare your project to a new folder name each time.
Also Save your project under a new name (I name incrementally).
Prevents a multitude of issues down the road, including the one you describe.
May want to go back to 5.2, as 6.0 has some quirks of its own.

I think you may have the same issue discussed here:

dd blank subtitles, disk space rises to 173%

If you look at my post (second in the thread), hopefully that will provide the answer to your problem.
