Display Active Take Info on Final Video?

I know how to display the active take information on the timeline... but I would like to have it burned into the off-line video (so my boss doesn't have to read the burned in timecode, she can just say, "I want Clip 90, Clip 102, etc.").

Normally, I super a uniquely numbered identifyer over each shot, but I am getting lazy and there are MANY shots. So, I don't want to do that. It would be great if "(Tape Name) - Clip 047" could be displayed on the final output video.

Thanks.

Well, I do have UltimateSPro4 & Excalibur6 & Edit Details view (that comes free with Vegas!) which you will need for Tape name .. read on . .

In UltiS4 I can create Regions with Active Take Names as Region names AND in Excalibur6 I can use "Quick Labels" that WILL place a labels track above Events and label each and every Event using the Regions with the Active Take Names from created by US4!

It took me about 10 seconds to do - good enough?

What you DON'T get, as far as I can tell, is the TAPE name. However, you CAN copy all the info from the Edit Details View into a spreadsheet and print that off. This DOES have the Tape name in it.

Now, there may well be ANOTHER script that may well do this. I dunno?

HTH

What I also meant to add was that if you sit your boss down with a hard copy printed out version of Edit Detail views and watching the video she will see all the Active Take info burnt into an area of the screen. If you hand her a "marker" she can RING those she wants Events she wants. Once done, she gives you back the EDV sheet/s and you can identify the tape name and locate it amongst your library of tapes.

HTHs too!
