Display Date/Time Code Display for HDV Source?

rtbond wrote on 11/23/2007, 10:06 AM
I know this issue has been discussed before for DV content, but a search of the Forum did not turn up anything regarding HDV content.

I would like access the date and time information recorded to the m2t (MPEG-2 TS) capture files from my HDV camera. Last I knew Vegas did not have the ability to do display this information. Has anything change in Vegas 8?

What about a third party utility that might extract data/time information from the m2t file itself? There is a program (DV_DateCode) that will do this for DV AVI files. but I have found nothing for HDV m2t files.

Thanks!

This has worked correctly since Vegas 7 and continues to work in Vegas Pro 8. Just add the Sony Timecode to the media in the media pool and it will reflect the M2T media's timecode.

Sorry but I see no format options to display ***date*** information in the Sony timecode plugin. Perhaps you misunderstood the question or I misunderstood your response.

Are there any other insights into this question of access DATE information on HDV recording tapes?

For PAL HDV there is a tool which maybe is intesting. But it works on PAL HDV only.

Yup, sorry. Didn't see the date request. I don't know of any way to get the date, just the timecode.
