Display pictures (3 different catagories) are green in Vegas Pro 20

Debbie-Whitmer wrote on 10/14/2024, 1:56 PM

Using Windows 10, in my Vegas Pro 20 build 411 (see snapshot picture), in the display pictures on the left for three (3) items which are:  "Image Mapper", "Picture-in-Shape", and "Split Screen", the display pictures are all solid green so, therefore, I cannot see each display picture and how they will work.  WHY?  And how do I fix this?

I don't have these so they must be add-on from outside Vegas?

Hello andyrpsmith and thank you for responding. I only installed whatever Vegas Pro 20 came with. And it usually comes with Boris and NewBlue items but everything is supposed to work together.

@andyrpsmith those are NewBlue plugins

@Debbie-Whitmer I'm not sure why you're seeing that. Here's what I see with Image Mapper:

You might try a reinstall of the NewBlue plugins as well as a reset of VEGAS.

Hello @jetv. Thank you for responding. It's been a while since installing Vegas Pro 20 and I could not remember which one these "green display pictures" came with Boris or NewBlue. I appreciate that info; it helps to make things a little easier. Thank you!

Right now I have these NewBlue plugins installed:

•  NewBlue ColorFast 2,
•  NewBlue Elements 3 Overlay,
•  NewBlue Filters 5 Ultimate,
•  NewBlue Transition 3 Ultimate, and
•  NewBlue Transitions 5 Flow installed.

(1)  Which NewBlue plugins do the “green picture displays” belong to?

(2) AND do I have to uninstall FIRST whichever NewBlue plugin(s) this “green picture displays” belong to -OR- can I just install the NewBlue (plugin(s) right over what I already have installed?

I look forward to your reply.

@Debbie-Whitmer Look at your image and my image. Look below your "green" pictures. See what it says there? Here it is close up:

So you know the name of the effect and that it's from NewBlue and is a part of the Elements package.

I would just reinstall without uninstalling.

@jetdv - I just wanted to let you know that it worked!! No more green displays and now I can see all the display pictures on all 3 categories that I listed in my original post! I installed right on top of what I already had installed and it went okay. The only thing that I had to do was go to the BlueNew website and deactivated the NewBlue elements and then reactivated it inside of the NewBlue manager. Then I checked it and it worked!! Thank you again so much for your help! And thank you for your kindness! 😃👍

Hello @Jack S - Thank you for your message. I came back later and quoted above what @jetdv said and then under that told him that what he suggested worked! How else am I supposed to "mark" what he said? Oh, okay, I just looked up and saw the option "Tag as solution" and I clicked it. I'm so sorry, I did not know to do this until now.

ALSO, I did want to mention to @jetdv that I also reset Vegas Pro 20 back to default settings as he suggested and then put in my original settings that causes my video files to render really fast. Everything after that worked perfectly! When it comes to settings being changed in Vegas Pro, it's always a good idea to either make a backup or keep a good record of the new settings to refer back to. Thanks for everyone's help! It was greatly appreciated!

Really, you don’t need to be sorry, it happens. I was just giving you a friendly nudge. Marking a thread as ‘solved’ helps users who have a similar problem, home in to find a potential solution.
