Not the most elegant solution, but if you select Sony Time Code from Track FX, it will give you reference numbers that could be useful.

You can then elect to display file names in prefferences as use that as a cross reference to still file numbers.

In DVD Architect, you can go to Options >Auto Insert Slide Text, and the original file name will appear on the screen. This isn't like a proof sheet where they can see 24 images in stacks, but it will show the original image with the original file name. You'd just build this as a slide show in DVD Architect, rather than doing it in Vegas.

Thank you so much. Exactly what I needed. Was studying your book all morning and missed it.

Here is a two-step solution:

1. Use the script I posted here:

Add regions and event names

This will add regions to every event on your Vegas timeline, and name that event with the name of the media from which it came.

2. Use the export regions as subtitles script that came with Vegas 5. This will export those regions as subtitle text.

3. Render your project in a format suitable for bringing into DVD Architect.

4. Open the rendered media in DVDA, and then attach the subtitles file. This will give you the file name (and number) for each slide, and you can turn this on and off at the time you view the disk.
