Displaying "Absolute Frames"

alexander-jason wrote on 7/21/2014, 11:29 PM
I want to have each frame number appear on the rendered video. I am using the "Sony Timecode" efx. I select "Absolute Frames" and I get a nice box with the frame number -- but ALSO with a decimal point and three zero's. (Like this: 122.000)

I don't want the decimal point and the three zero's. I just want the frame number to appear (like this: 122 )

Is there a way to cut off the completely unnecessary decimal and zero's? Or is there a more intelligent timecode efx I can buy somewhere that will do this simple thing?

Thanks,

AAJ

Apply an FX mask to "cover/mask-out" those zeros. Is there an Absolute Frames without the ZEROS option?

No, there is no option on the Absolute Frames.

Thanks for the mask suggestion. I was hoping for an easier solution..

Thanks,

I thought that maybe there's a decimal point so that if you have Quantize to frame off you can see what partial frame you're on. It never does, always an integer. Doesn't show anything in a decimal on project or event media.

Which makes me wonder, why have the decimal point if it's not used?

uses the decimal places when i wanted to export chapter breaks for an mp4 with drax.

Yes, that was my question, too. the decimal point and zeros is not needed. But probably never get fixed.

Agreed. This is sloppy programming. Trivial change if they ever got the itch to do so. Not likely.
