Displaying Clipart or photo

Does anybody know of another way to display these on top of a Generated Media scene? I currently use Track FX Inverse (100%) and Compositing "Subtract" to show a clipart or photo image without the annoying border/extra stuff around it. When I edit the image, I make sure and crop out any extra stuff, but Vegas puts in a rectangular box around the image. I'm trying to do a scene similar to the old Monty Python Show with images moving around the active area.

The border is a basic fact of life: Most photos are 3:2 aspect ratio, and TV is 4:3. It's a square peg in round hole problem. Same problem as fitting widescreen movies onto a standard TV set.

You can either live with the borders and see the entire picture, or you can change the aspect ratio of your picture to fit the TV 4:3 aspect ratio. This will crop out portions of the picture, but you can move the pan/crop box around and use keyframing in order to see -- over time -- the entire picture.

To change the aspect ratio of the picture, click on the pan/crop icon in the picture event. Then, in the "Event Pan/Crop" dialog, right click on the picture and select "Match Output Aspect."

If you have lots of pictures, do this for the first one. Then, click on this picture and select "Copy" from the Edit menu. Finally, de-select this picture and then select all the remaining pictures. Select "Paste Event Attributes" from the Edit menu. All the pictures will now have "Match Output Aspect" applied.

You will probably want to select each event and use the keyframing feature to move or zoom your pictures.

Cut out your shapes that you want to fly around using the Bezier Masking feature of the Pan/Crop Tool.

Thanks Gary and John! I'll try both and see what happens.
