Dividing a rendered MPEG file

I have several a 2 hour videos rendered to MPEG-2.
I had the brilliant idea of dumping all of the videos into my PC, then editing and rendering all of them, then authoring the DVD's. Now I have all of my childrens videos rendered, but now that I want to author the DVD's, I seem to have a small problem, the files are too big. In researching other threads in the forum, I see that what I need is to divide it into 2 MPEGS and make 2 DVD's. I would like to avoid re-rendering all of the videos since I removed the souce video from my machine as soon as I had the MPEG's finished.
Is there a easy way to cut my rendered file in half, at a good stopping point of course, instead of re- rendering it?

I use a program called "VideoReDo" for all my MPEG2 trimming needs. I'm pretty sure that I've read here on the forum that you can get Vegas to "smart render" MPEG2 files, but I've never done it. Do a search...
