DivX or not DivX

Gee...

I installed the latest DivX 5.0.2 and can't seem to make Vegas Video use it.
I have a lot of mpg and avi files that I won't be able to see the images.
When I look at the files properties, they are all coded with the same DivX as I have, 5.0.2

I only get to play the sound of these files.
Anybody knows what can be the source of my problem? Thanks.

This comes up frequently. Any flavor of Divx should be considered unreliable as a source format in Vegas at this time. We have been in touch with Divx engineering about a number of issues, and at some point a good Divx solution may surface. No promises-

Thanks for that information. In the mean time, I discovered a way to counter this problem. It is more lenghty but I found out that I can open those files with my Sound forge 5.0. I just save them in WMV files or AVI files, then my files can be opened with Vegas.
