I guess if I have to ask, then I really don't need it but...What exactly is the benefit of DIVX Pro? I am not a professional in this field, just a hobbist. Thanks.

Thank you, John, for the link and thank you for alerting us to some 'free' stuff. Free is always nice.

Often I am normally so slow I get an offer like this.

This time I failed! 2 months back I needed it and bought it! Prat! - Damn fine Software though! You just drag your AVI onto the "Convertor" ( now THAT'S a word I like and understand! Not "encoder" - but convertor!) and it's done! Yeah, sure, you can tweak - if you must. But after a short while it was there - done!

Now, all they need to do is short their qMobile linkages. I can MAKE the qMobile file. I can read it on my PC. But it is still not happening on my NOKIA. From reading their very helpful site - and it IS very informative - there are some major plans afoot.

Grazie

In addition, one thing I have noticed is that Divx appears to be less resource intensive than decoding Flash video. My laptop gets very warm when playing back flash videos off the net.

I'm going to experiment with this to see if this is a better solution than dealing with Flash Video's extra step of encoding out (an additional extra step and a pain currently)

This will be extremely useful along with the announced DIVX support for PS3.

John,

Your timing couldn't be more perfect. Per my previous posts about best formats for web delivery, I had credit card in hand to buy DivX Pro. For those who haven't tried it, it really is idiot proof (a must for me) and the results are fanstastic!

Thanks for the tip!

I downloaded the DivX program but whenever I try to create an account or go to the download or publishing manager, I get a "Navagation cancelled" error and do not connect. Anyone else have this problem?
